Spiritual Guidance and Companionship

Description

Spiritual guidance may take different forms depending on one's needs. Traditional spiritual direction may take the form of meeting to share the person's prayer life and spiritual struggles. The traditional Irish Celtic form is Anam Cara--or Soul Friend--which is a friendship focused on supporting a person on the Soul's Path to Oneness (God or Spirit or Mystery...).  Deep listening characterizes Companionship. This is different from counselling or psychotherapy.  The Guide  may offer instruction in spiritual practices such as meditation, reading from spiritual texts or one of many other practices. It is important to help people let go of the idea of separateness; one's life is not physical or mental or emotional or spiritual, it is a whole. It is intended to be a whole but often times is not. This is why people seek help. For those seeking to mark a period of growth and change, help may be offered to bring a sense of ritual or ceremony. For those who are members of a tradition, many of these are already provided and meaningful. For the seekers outside of a tradition, some guidance may be welcomed. Sessions held on line over Zoom video call. Sliding scale available; contact Monica to inquire.
