A Shiatsu Approach to Overall Health and Wellbeing - Day 1
Description
This continuing education course is for Registered Massage Therapists, and introduces the basic anatomy of the meridian system and an overview of this approach to treatment. Participants will learn palpation skills to identify areas of dysfunction, and will also include palpation of muscles and joints in relation to the meridians. Ergonomics will be emphasized for thumbs, fingers, hands, and elbows. All techniques will be learned for use on treatment tables, but not floor treatment mats. Breathing exercises for the therapist and the client will be introduced. Technique applications to specific point on the meridians–with special emphasis on the Bladder meridians–will be applied. Treatment for common conditions will be discussed and applied. Please also book Day 2; both days must be completed together in order to qualify for CEUs.
