Shoulder Dysfunction: an Integrative Approach - Day 1

Description

The target of this course is the shoulder. We will be taking a broad, global approach to shoulder dysfunction. Beginning with anatomy and biomechanics, we will look at how the shoulder interacts with the entire person. We will explore the interplay between the shoulder girdle and the cervico-thoracic and lumbar-pelvic regions. We will practise assessment and palpation. We will practise treatment approaches integrating fascial techniques and joint mobilizations with neuromuscular techniques. Finally, we will explore the psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual interactions that may connect to a client’s shoulder dysfunction. We will look at some of the theories from both Eastern and Western perspectives. We will discuss boundaries and scope of practice concerns. We will discuss options for self-care for our clients. Please also book Day 2; both days must be completed together in order to qualify for CEUs. This is a companion course to Integrative Approach to Lumbosacral Dysfunction, and Lower Leg Dysfunction: A Global Approach. Courses may be taken in any order.
